Does A Suspended eBay eBook Seller Mean No Sales?
by rayjohnson | October 28, 2007 | under Selling Ebooks on Ebay, eBay & Paypal Suspension |
In the last month since ebay suspended me, as the suspended Google.com No.1 Ranked eBook Business Specialist, I have been thinking long and hard about the future of eBook selling on eBay - not only for myself, but for you - a valued list member or reader…
No matter what anyone might say it is a thriving business to get involved in. With hundreds of new e-sellers creating businesses daily online, and profiting instantly - it is not difficult to see why. However, I have a question that I need your help in answering which is crucial to my business, so please read on…
So I digress, as Google.com’s No.1 Ranked eBay eBook business seller, would you still buy an eBook business from me even though I am currently no longer registered with eBay?
This eBay suspension has learned me a valuable lesson and given me a whole NEW angle to rejuvenate from. I can STILL operate an eBook business myself without using eBay, as is is simply the medium through which traffic is funnelled to gather targeted leads to sell to - but the damage sustained to my long term plans could be unrecoverable…
Myself and my staff at The Ray Johnson Group have been knuckling down to create the sequel to Build Your eBay Empire - “Build Your eBay Empire 2 - The eBook Revolution” and the suspension of my accounts has potentially damaged my credibility…
But I’ll be frank with you… Would YOU buy from me?
I have seen it all, done it all, and made hundreds of thousands by using the power of eBooks to viralise and self promote my businesses… but in YOUR opinion - would you choose to buy - or not to buy… that is the question!
Your comments on this post would be seriously appreciated, and the best reader comment will receive a FREE copy of “Build Your eBay Empire” valued at $49.95.
I’ll keep you updated on how my suspensions go, my solicitor is liaising with eBay and Paypal as I write!

Hi Ray,
I do not know the reason that eBay booted you. To be honest I have heard some things, without names, that sound a mighty lot like you because of the things you have said and the very strong similarity of those things I have heard.
I may find it difficult buy from you on that premise, but not because of eBay’s suspension specifically.
I know that when you are about the only act in town and no one regulating you but yourself that power can be an awesome thing to contend with.
If you are honest in your business, I do believe that you will do well, regardless of eBay and I would support you in that effort.
Good luck and God bless.
Gary
Hi Gary
Thanks for the reply AND your honesty.
eBay suspended me simply to follow suit with their sister compnany Paypal, as I triggered their “red flag” due to - too many large withdrawals over a period of time.
Also I was victim to a fraudulent chargeback (or abuse of Paypal’s chargeback policy) and Paypal side with the buyer in 99% of cases.
I’ll strive to maintain my No.1 Ranking in the major search engines
and maintain my authority in my specific niche of eBay eBook Businesses, and I wish you much success in future with your endeavours.

Ray,
The idea that you committed an “infraction” and
violated the policies of Paypal and thus also Ebay is ludicrous. Whose money were you drawing out and what is the exact policy on the limitations which apply?
Your bank would not do such a thing and the idea that Paypal has that much control over your earned monies and answers to no regulatory authority to insure fairness is also unthinkable. Yet that is what
we are faced with in the internet marketing community.
The fact that Paypal does not have to communicate with you or give you a warning before taking drastic action is also an unworkable situation which needs to be remedied immediately.
I would not hesitate to do business with you or any other entity who has been a victim of the Paypal and Ebay policies and I believe that it is time for
marketers to notify their forums and memberships and collectively search for a solution to a problem that has gone on too long. And no marketer has been immune to this problem, it reeks and cries for fairness and
a just solution.

Hi Charles
Thank you so much for the reply that I have been wanting to CRY out to my valued subscriber list!
Some of eBay and Paypal’s policies are nothing short of criminal, and EVERYONE that uses these sites for business practices are LITERALLY placing their online businesses in the hands of eBay and Paypal…
Here is a full and detailed explanation (in English - not legal language) of eBay AND Paypal’s Terms Of Service:

Please educate yourself fully and if you have any comments you would like to put out in the next email to my subscriber list Charles, please do not hesistate to get in touch.
I wish you all the best and hope upon release, to see inside the new members area of Build Your eBay Empire 2.

Ray

Hi Ray,
I truly believe whatever obstacles come your way, you will overcome them. You truly inspire me and I would not hesitate buying any products from you.
I agree with every word that Charles’ has said, and unless Paypal can prove that any fraudulent transactions have been carried out, how an earth can they keep any of your monies. If every bank/building society worked on the same principal as paypal, I wonder how many people would be using a bank for their monetary transactions??????
Anyway keep up the good work Ray, really look forward to receiving your emails - you really are an inspiration.

Hi Ray,
I would definitely still buy from you, regardless of what eBay or Paypal does or says. Your work is top quality.
eBay and Paypal are getting too big for their own good, in my opinion. I have been hearing lots of horror stories lately. They just shouldn’t be able to do what they have done to you and many others. It’s just wrong.
Thanks,
Keith
Hi Ray,
I have enjoyed and benefitted immensely from both our friendship and your internet marketing ebook business on ebay expertise for quite some time now.
I would definitely do business with you as the kind of knowledge that you possess for maximizing sales of quality ebooks on ebay is second to none in my book.
This thing will work out for your good because you are a champion and champions come out on top.
Talk to ya soon and God Bless,
Doug
PS. Ray, I beleive this is only the beginning of your true success in business. Keep your head up!
Hi Ray,
I am appald at what both Ebay & PayPal have done to you.
You are ONE of the few people I have bough from in the last year who really delivered VALUE not crap.
Yes I would buy from you again. After all I have bought just about everything you have produced so far.
I really TRUSt you and you respond very quickly if there is a problem.
Good luck in your battle against Ebay.
Good people skill sets and superior products do not come from “bad: people. Undeserved suspensions and frozen assets come from poor Company policy - period.
I will continue to buy from you AND will follow yours and others advice to use multiple payment sites
I plan to give away these reports on all outgoing mail and products sold.
Keep up your good work

Ray,
If I wanted to do business on ebay, I would have no problems buying an ebook from you at all.
What I share is not from me so much as the marketing Billionaire Jay Abraham. He talks about the “Power Parthenon”* which is a business with MANY sources of supply of customers. A major reason for this is that at any time, one source of supply can collapse.
The many gurus I listen to say this about creating a product:
a) Find a hungry crowd.
b) Work out as many ways as possible to reach your hungry crowd.
I have heard other horror stories of PayPal and if it does not change, it will find itself in the backwater like Alta Vista and Lotus 123. I suggest you simply switch to a Moneybookers Merchant Account and the many other auction places available. If moneybookers.com got their marketing act together they would overtake PayPal sooner or later.
PLUS you can learn other ways to sell ebooks.

*In case you’re wondering about the “Power Parthenon”, see my article on:

“Is Your Marketing Like A Diving Board or The Parthenon?”
Hope you get this all settled Ray. Big companies are not fun to deal with when they are pissed off.
Good luck,
Reed
