All autoresponders are not created equal.  To be effective an autoresponder needs to do a number of functions well.  An autoresponder needs to:

Of all the autoresponders I have looked at Aweber does the best job at meeting or exceeding all of these requirements. Aweber makes it easy to build your list. It is a simple
matter to create an opt in table for a squeeze page with Aweber. 

Setting up messages is easy.  You can create as many messages as you want.  Your messages can be any length and can be changed easily at any time.

You can set up unlimited numbers of autoresponders or campaigns. For example I can have an autoresponder for my leads that have not yet bought from me and another
autoresponder for my customers who have bought.

The most important feature of any autoresponder is, of course, deliverability. In other words, does the message actually reach the person it was sent to?  This is Aweber’s
biggest strength.  They boast one of the best deliverability rates to major ISPs.  

No need to be a technical wizard in order to use Aweber. Tutorials on using the system are provided. Aweber ensures that all of my emails comply with the US Federal Can Spam
regulations. 

If Aweber has any negatives it has to do with their import rules.  You can import any list that has directly opted in to you.  All of your old subscribers must re-opt in to be an
active member of your Aweber list.  Sometimes you can loose leads through this additional opt in requirement.

Aweber is not free, although they do offer a 30 day free trial.  The standard pricing is $19.95 per month.  They do have quarterly, semi-annual and annual plans that provide
discounts against the monthly price.  Those prices are for 10,000 leads.  Each 10,000 after that is an additional $9.95

An autoresponder is the most important tool you as an online marketer must have. It is your one method of communicating with your list.  Of all the autoresponders I have evaluated, Aweber does the best job of meeting and exceeding all the
requirements of a good autoresponder.
