Ray Catches Swine Flu —> Mystery Subscriber Steps In…

Hi there,

Ray has unfortunately been laid up in bed ill for the last few days - he’s actually caught swine flu, and although he isn’t hospitalised this time round, and hopefully all will be fine, he’s asked me to fill in for him with today’s blog post.

I’m Robert Black and regular readers of this blog might remember that Ray asked me to stand in for him a few months ago in similar circumstances – this is the link to that post:

http://ray-johnson.co.uk/internet-marketing/mystery-man-fills-in-ray-johnsons-shoes.php

So what’s all this about?

Well, a few days ago Ray sent out an email a few days ago looking for someone to create content for him – ebooks, reports, articles. That kind of thing. Due to his illness he hasn’t been able to respond; he’s asked me to do it on his behalf.

So this post is essentially an apology to the 86 (yes EIGHTY SIX!) people who responded to that request and offered their services, (see below just a small section!)

Ray hasn’t as yet replied… I trust you will understand the reason, and once he’s on the road to recovery no doubt he will reply to every one who wrote in.

Creating content is a subject that should interest all of us in the business of selling information. Every successful internet marketer creates their own products using a form of unique content. That might be an ebook, it might be articles or a series of videos and audios. The point is that while affiliate products are great, generally the real profits are found in creating products exclusive to you.

Let’s have a quick look at one of these products – an ebook. I’ve written a few ebooks myself so I feel I’m reasonably qualified to comment. In fact I even wrote one for Ray; if you’ve been a subscriber and customer of his for a while you probably own that ebook!

So how do you go about writing an ebook? Essentially you have 3 choices:

  1. Write it yourself

  2. Pay someone to write it for you (as Ray does)

  3. - - (I’ll tell you about this one further down!)

Writing the ebook yourself can seem a daunting task if you’ve never written anything before, especially if you don’t consider yourself to be a “good” writer. But what IS a good writer? Unless you are planning to be the next Shakespeare, Orwell, Kafka or Ludlum in which case you’re on the wrong web site, consider what it is that your ebook is aiming to do…..

The most successful ebooks – whether they are internet marketing related ebooks or not, generally solve a problem. Have a look at the titles on Clickbank, particularly the categories that have nothing to do with making money

  • How to end panic attacks

  • How to build muscle

  • How to get your ex back

  • How to use solar power

  • Etc etc

THINK how you can solve someone’s problem and you CAN create an ebook – an ebook that people will WILLINGLY want to buy from you. Obviously if you have previous knowledge of a subject as well as enthusiasm then that will come across positively in your writing.

In many ways a good ebook is like a good sales letter. Present the problem, empathise with your reader (I used to have the same problems as you), then offer the solution. Write in a structured, step by step manner and walk your reader through the answer or answers. Put in a summary at the end, together with a “Further Recommended Reading” section with links to either your other products or related affiliate products.

Easy, right? And you wondered what all the fuss was about?!

Hmmm……or would you like a high quality 61 page guide on “How to write an ebook”? Would that make a difference to you, if you could read how easy it is to create your own?

When I did my previous guest post a few months ago, I introduced a lot of people to my main web site selling CD Ready Resell Rights products. I got a lot of emails and I’m still communicating regularly with a quite a few people to this day.

So, as a thank you to you for reading this far, I’d like to give you, completely free, a $47 ebook that has helped me a lot, and one that I sell regularly.

Simply go to my site

http://www.bestmultimediaguides.com

and enter in your name and email address in the optin box right on the right hand side of the page.

After you have received a confirmation email from Aweber, I’ll send you the $47 ebook free of charge. Oh, nearly forgot there’s one other thing. Do you remember earlier in the post I mentioned that you have 3 choices when writing an ebook?

  1. Write it yourself

  2. Pay someone to write it for you

  3. - - (I’ll tell you about this one further down!)

The 2 dashes above stand for “Resell Rights”, and the $47 ebook I’m going to send you comes with FULL Resell Rights, so you can also make money from it by selling it!

Thanks for reading this and I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing Ray a speedy recovery.

Please feel free to leave your comments - Ray’s blog never EVER has a no comment post, and after our last post receiving over 59 comments - I cant wait to see the reply this time around… :)

  4. Hi Ray,

Geez, I didn’t know you caught swine flu? Let’s hope you get better soon eh!

    Hi Robert,

Great post by the way. I think using private label rights is the way to go for sheer speed and up to date content. I’ve used dozons of plr reports, articles etc for some of my eBooks and sometimes it’s just to get the ball rolling and giving me fresh ideas.

I think another great example is once you’ve found a topic you’d like to write about, and you’ve done a little research is simply to start writing without editing, going back to bold sentences or adding pretty pics. It’s not easy to do to start off with, but if you get into this habit it’s surprising how much content you come up with in a short space of time.

  5. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Ray.

  6. Hi Robert,
Really sorry to hear about Ray. Good of you to step in and help. If there is anything I can do then please let me know.

Please pass on my best wishes to Ray. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

All of my very best wishes

    Ken

  7. Thanks for all the replies. I was chatting with Ray yesterday, he seemed to be picking up a bit. If there’s someone who’s had more than his fair share of ill health then it’s Ray.
As DesDrec in response #4 says PLR is VERY powerful. PLR in combination with PHYSICAL products on CD is even more powerful. Ray’s last few products have all been physical CDs, and with good reason.
Very few people have woken up to the massive potential of PLR on CD-ROM, and the market is wide open.
If anyone wants to learn more I suggest you sign up for the free ebook as per my post, not so much to get the freebie (which isn’t the usual free junk btw) but I will be sending out a lot of useful tips and I positively WELCOME your questions!
    Cheers
    Robert

RE: the swine flu it was only mild anyway, but better to be safe for my kids etc… cant be giving it to them… I reckon this pandemic was all hype anyway - something I RARELY deal in!
