Ray Johnson Rushed To Hospital… (And Why It’s Good For YOU!)

Hi everyone…

Something completely different today because Ray was unfortunately rushed to hospital yesterday morning and is now laid up in bed for a couple of weeks suffering from extremely painful kidney stones - and is struggling to even think about turning on his computer, never mind writing a blog post!

So, rather than you missing out on his usual content crammed full of tips, he’s asked me to temporarily fill in for him… which just goes to show I guess that Ray doesn’t hide away like other marketers and REALLY want’s his followers and clients etc to interact with him. Totally refreshing in in my opinion and what has seperated Ray from the other marketers out there.

…anyway I promise you it’s going to be worth your while to read this post in full – there’s a couple of super products you’re going to get for your troubles….totally free of charge!

So who am I (the mystery man) and how dare I think I can fill Ray’s shoes?

Well, I’ve certainly no intention of even attempting to match Ray’s unique writing style but I do hope I can pass on some information that will be of benefit to you.

My name is Robert Black; I’ve been a student of Ray’s mentoring program for just over 12 months.

Although I’m fairly new to marketing on the internet I ran my own successful offline sales and marketing business for nearly 25 years. Whilst the operational methods may differ, the rules for running a thriving business are pretty much the same – on or off the internet.

You haven’t come here to read my life story, nor to read a sales pitch for Ray’s mentoring program so I’m not going to give you that. But just to give a very brief background I will tell you that I set up a brand new eBay shop selling digital media products shortly after eBay banned digital downloads. In less than 3 months I was the biggest seller in that category on eBay UK…

..and that would NOT have happened without Ray’s help.

I’ve even put together a “business in a box” training package so that ANYONE can do the same – www.easyauctioncashsystem.com

My email address is at the bottom if you want to learn more.

There are 2 things I want to share with you today

  1. Never worry about the competition

  2. Everyone has knowledge that someone else will pay for

Competition – NEVER EVER worry about them! Seriously! That’s a lesson I learned many years ago. Focus on what YOU have to offer that’s different to what others are selling. You will ALWAYS find a different sales angle; the market for information products is absolutely huge.

Of course that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do some basic research first. There’s probably not much point in selling your own branded version of Microsoft Office or setting up your own online travel agency – not unless you have a lot of experience in those markets and even then….

In my opinion there has never been a time to worry less about the competition. We are living in a time where bad service is the norm, not just from larger companies but also individual businesses. If you don’t believe me just have a look at the majority of listings on eBay. Badly written in barely legible English, or even worse, written in the dreaded “Txtspeak”. Comic fonts, bright colours, text centrally aligned and out of focus pictures.

Don’t think that’s just confined to eBay. These are a lot of your competitors! All you need to do is be just a little bit better than that, give your customers slightly better service, reply to their emails, thank them for their business and you are onto a winner.

So please don’t worry about your competitors, most of them haven’t got a clue what they are doing – and they are still making money!

My second point is that everyone, including YOU, has information or knowledge in their heads that someone else will pay for. I promise you that you are, or can market yourself as, an expert on something. It may be a hobby, it may be through your J-O-B, it may be something you learned when you were still a child, it may be a particular negative experience you have overcome.

Every internet “guru” tells us to create our own product. Everyone has some piece of specific knowledge that they can sell to others. Sure, you may not be able to write your own eBook about it because you don’t see yourself as a writer but…..you can outsource that to a writer for less than $200.

I tried many different things online from blogging to affiliate marketing to eBay and plenty of things in between. Because I didn’t have a “techie” background and I was a newbie to internet marketing I didn’t think I had knowledge to sell. Then it hit me one day – the principles that led to the success of my own offline business are almost identical to the principles for successfully selling online.

One quick example – about 3 years ago the latest buzz word on the internet was “viral marketing”. Guru after guru was proclaiming this as some great discovery. Funnily enough I was using “viral marketing” to grow my own offline business back in 1985 before internet marketing even existed! Only I didn’t think to call it that or even give it any sort of name, it was just one of my marketing strategies. So don’t get overwhelmed by all the “marketing speak”, it’s almost certainly all been done before.

OK, thanks for having the patience to read this through to the end! I promised you a free gift didn’t I? Actually you’re going to get 2 – one from Ray by way of an apology for not being here, and 1 from me by way of thanks for making it here.

All you have to do is leave a comment or question below – whether good or bad it doesn’t matter, all that counts is your feedback. You will get

  1. Your choice of one of Ray’s products (just choose one and email me on admin@bestmultimediaguides.com and I’ll see you get your product by reply)

  2. Your choice of one of my products from my main Resale Rights and PLR site www.bestmultimediaguides.com

Thanks for reading and I’m sure you’ll join me in passing on best wishes to Ray for a speedy recovery.

Please feel free to leave a comment and I’ll see Ray get’s every one of them!

  11. Hi Robert,

Sure hope Ray get’s through this quickly.
I’ve had kidney stones multiple times and
it’s the kind of thing you’d hardly wish on
    an enemy…

“Bring on the morphine drip”, I say.

I am with you 100% on not worrying about
    competition. Especially if you’ve clearly
    defined what differentiates your business..

Once you’ve accomplished that you can
often embrace your competitors as allies..

    [Reply]

  12. All the best Ray – may you have a speedy recovery

    @Robert

Thanks a lot for reassuring me that competition is not only a good thing – but as one marketer puts it, “Its the best thing” It shows that there is money to be made.

I will really take that to heart.

  13. Hi there Robert, I hope you are well. I was quite shocked when I saw the email message title that Ray had been rushed to hospital.
Some years ago I had gall stones and ended up having my gall bladder removed. If the pain that Ray is going through with kidney stones is anything like the pain caused by gall stones, then I honestly do feel for him.
Please can you send him my regards and tell him that we are all thinking of him and tell him to make a speedy recovery.
I need to speak to the man!!!
I also want to say that you have filled Ray’s shoes very well as I really enjoyed reading this post. (Hmm I’ve been waiting for his mentoring course to open again) nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

  20. Hey Robert,
I wish Ray a speedy recovery, and the least possible pain for his condition. Ray’s a great guy and ya know you can’t keep a good man down for long.

Your post here was a very good read, but you still need to fix the link with the missing “s”. You and I have a least one thing in common.

Pertaining to the free gifts, the word “ANY” is a very powerful word, making my product choice of Ray’s a NoBrainer. I thank you for that!

Nuff said. Give Ray and his family my best regards, and keep up the good work Robert!

  23. Hello Robert,

I am sorry to hear that Ray was rushed to hospital – probably in severe pain, I would imagine! Please pass on my Best Wishes for a successful recovery and returning home to his family.

He probably doesn’t know me, I am a subscriber to his blog, which I read when I have time to spare.

I am also a ‘student’ of John Thornhill. Although I should have finished his course at Christmas, I am still on week 9 and haven’t yet uploaded my first e-book! I too, have had hospital treatment for 2 cataract operations during the last 6 month; visits and work have delayed my progress in becoming an Internet Marketer but I am still moving in the right direction.

From Ray’s blogs, I have a high regard for him. I haven’t taken any advantage, or bought anything from Ray, to date.. As John said, it is not really profitable until you have finished your course with me, as you may well buy things you don’t want and waste your money. This seemed good advice. Enough of this!

Back to Ray. Please do give him my regards and maybe a copy of this e-mail for him to read!

HI Ray! Get well and back home soon! It’s much nicer at home – and the food’s usually better too!

I’d like confirmation that you have recovered 100% in due course.

    Kindest regards,? ? ?

  25. Hi, Robert,
These two points you make are very true, never worry about the competition, but, maybe learn from their success.
Everyone really does have knowledge that is valuable to others, you just need to make this knowledge available in some form.

Ray, tap your heels three times and repeat after me,

    There’s no place like home,
    There’s no place like home,
    There’s no place like home.

  32. Just a quick note – on the web site

    http://www.bestmultimediaguides.com

there is a button at the top “Audio Books” which links to, surprisingly enough, a web site selling Audio Books. That is an affiliate link to that site, I cannot therefore give these away for free.

On the main index page underneath the “Welcome” section there is a heading titled “Latest Premium Ebooks” – this is also an affiliate link to various Clickbank products. Again I cannot give these away for free.

You will find the FREE products on the left hand side navigation bar under “Site Categories”. This lists all the various subcategories of Ebooks, Software, Graphics etc.

There are about 450 different products there in about 100 niches. These are the FREE products – all come with either Resale Rights or Private Label Rights, all come with a sales letter as a minimum – many come with a full ready-to-go web site.

If you read the product description that will give the full details.

Apologies for any confusion – I should have made that a bit clearer.

    All the best

It’s nice to have friends like you to step in and help out in a crisis and to explain to his subscribers.

One marketeer that I was dealing with, just faded away into nothing. It wasn’t until a few months later that I heard he had had a severe car crash.

It was a shame that he didn’t have anybody relay what was happening in his IM world. It left a lot of people high and stranded. Not so in Ray’s case.

    I’m looking forward to more.

    Kind Regards,

Numbers of people purchase a subscription to a program that provides the utilization of articles having private label rights. But, the topic becomes confusing if you decide whether private rights label integrates distribution rights to resell the article substance. Private rights is different from copyright transfer. In the States, copyright can only be transferred by the use of a written and signed contract. Barring a contractual transfer of, copyright still with the original author of the work, whether a formal copyright application was passed or not.
