My Business Salesfunnel Surgery…
by rayjohnson | October 15, 2008 | under Internet Marketing, Systemitisation |
Well it is the day of my son Bailey’s 4th Birthday - but 10 minutes after toddling off the school, he was back home with us with a virus - poor little man! So we took him to the surgery and he is resting for the day instead of partying!
I have just finished some serious surgery of my own on the salesfunnel in my business… and since we can’t celebrate yet with Bailey - I thought I would share it with you…
Your salesfunnel is simple the system that you aim to place every one of your prospects through to maximise VALUE to the customer, maximise relationship building at the point of sale, and maximise your profits as the business owner.
Your salesfunnel is so important as it will sustain the grow of your business, your customer base and your profits and without a salesfunnel you DON’T have a business. Period.
Every business online needs an entry point to the salesfunnel, and the perfect way to do this is to offer a FREE offer or a low price product on the front end. This enables you to build a list of prequalified prospects to sell to OR more importantly a list of “happy” buyers… Happy with the great value in both the price of your entry level offer and the value of the information contained in the product.
So I began disecting my business to maximise it’s profit potential.
I have now changed the PRICE to my entry level product Build Your eBay Empire to just $7.00.
Just $7.00 for my 110 page eBook, 20 minute video, all the bonuses and more. Talk about giving value for money!
You should try implementing this into your business with your products - and if you dont yet have a product simply create an audio product using Skype and Pamela recording software. Simply search Google for an expert in your area and email them asking to do an audio interview (and make sure you make it clear you’ll promote their products in the interview to make it easier to secure the deal).
Now, you are not going to get rich from implementing the first part of the funnel, therefore you need UPSELLS on the backend after your prospect has either opted in or bought the low price product. Upsells will make you profits as they catch the buyer in the buying mood - and again if you deliver real value and PRICE the upsell at a minimum of 3x times the price of the front end you are assured sales and profits.
Remember: Upsell sales COST NOTHING to generate, so you should test the conversion rate of the upsell to determine the average spend on advertising.
Why?
Because then ALL your efforts can then be made on feeding the funnel, and you are almost guaranteed (if all factors stay the same) that you will make X per 100 visitors you receive, then simply repeat the process.
Check out the front end and upsell strategies I have used by grabbing your copy of Build Your eBay Empire Classified - for the new price of just $7.00 HERE
As always, I read all your comments personally - but HOPEFULLY if Bailey gets better we’ll all be celebrating his birthday later on! Either way your comments will be approved

Good move with the $7.00 price tag for Build Your eBay Empire. That will prove to be a good decision mate!

Ahh thanks Tom, he his 39 degrees but coming down now… tell me about bad timing but he was fine this morning before school - CRAZY.
Anyway yep - the system already has proved fruitful, and when I get JV’s on the new proce - I’ll post the results!
Ray
First of all, Happy Birthday to Bailey and hope he gets well soon. Some nice prezzies will speed his recovery no end.
As for sales funnels, as you are so right but getting people to the mouth of the sales funnel is the problem for many. In other words getting traffic. I did a little test using StumbleUpon just recently and it skyrocketed traffic to one of my sites. I put the results on my blog,
By the way, do you use any particular software for your sales funnel Ray? There are so many systems out there it is hard to choose which is best.
I use Rapid Action Profits for some of my products which is a low-cost but powerful solution. Of course, there are more powerful scripts available but they cost too much for newbies.
Hi Terry
Thanks for the birthday wishes - they are appreciated from the man himself
As for getting traffic to the funnel mouth, I wouldnt recommend StumbleUpon as the traffic is usually highly UNTARGETED.
The best wayI get traffic is by PPC, JV ’s articles, and adswaps as obviously you can find targeted ways to pour traffic to the mouth.
I dont use any scripts at all for funnelling - I simply create normal pages and make sre they all link in terms of product and price - ensuring a link to a membership site or continuity prgramme like my Digitalmediamasterclass.com
Hope this helps Terry!
Ray
You are right about StumbleUpon bringing untargeted traffic but if you get enough of it some will stick. I got thousands of visitors to one site in two days but then it fell back to normal.
PPC costs money so needs to be done very carefully but the other methods you mention are really good traffic getters. Article submissions work well and JV’s and adswaps are really powerful once you are established.
And it just goes to show that you don’t need a fancy dan script for your sales funnel.
Regards,
Terry
P.S. Enjoy the match tonight Ray?
Hi Tell,
Loved the game - thanks
As for Stumble, theres no point getting a spike of traffic if it drops off as u cannot accurately measure your stats and base conversions/ad buget around them… sustainability is key - hence outsourcing long term traffic generation (as I do) just my opinion, but it is the way to go if you are in the business as an ethical longterm business.
Articles have worked well for me providing the articles are of high quality, that comes ONLY from knowing ur budget and hiring thebest affordable writers.
JV’s - go for puppy marketers if you are a relative newby and grow from there.
Regards
Ray
Hi Ray,
I really like your blog and I am sure I can learn a lot here. I have a good e-book store online and I am looking at ways to generate more traffic from people who want to shop at an e-book store and not just one particular e-book. My store is http://good-stewards-mall.com. Drop by and check it out and give me a few pointers.
Thanks
Ron
