Looking Back On My Internet Marketing Career…

As regular readers will know, I started out in Internet Marketing quite by accident – I came from a direct mail business that peaked and troughed, and began my online journey quite by chance…
I bought an eBook for $37.00 that began my journey. It was an eBook by Infotec and it was basically a carbon copy of The Rich Jerk eBook methods that showed me how to sell eBooks on eBay. I was blown away by the possibilities and began learning from these people at Infotec.
I took advice and began my internet marketing career, buying ebooks with resale rights and embedding them with affiliate links then listing them for sale on eBay. I then created my own eBook based on their advice which was basically the same as a big info-seller on eBay and funnelled the vistors to this site – the money came in and in and in… it was great!
100% profit per sale, ZERO shipping, ZERO fulfilment, ALL 100% complete autopilot – amazing, or so I thought… then I found out they used “Blackhat” methods like IP delivery and cloaking, (advanced underhand techniques) that they had passed off to their students, who in turn became “blackhatters” – which basically set me up in Internet Marketing the WRONG way!
Talk about a hard lesson to learn!
So, instead of guessing who were the real deal and legitimate – I decided to look for a mentor – the REAL deal, someone who had been there and done that and got the I.M. T-Shirt to match. I searched for Mike Filsaime on Skype, and I struck GOLD… I found his name and immediately (naively) scurried away writing my introduction message on how I could help him help make me…
A few months passed with no reply, and so I contacted his “2nd in command” Tom Beal, and explained my story to him. I bounced ideas and asked his opinion of me, which I felt was important.. He immediately responded by giving me access to Mike Filsaime’s I5Gold Mentoring Programme – the creme d’ la creme of mentoring programmes back then, heck I even got a testimonial from him…
I began creating more and more of my own opportunities, by getting in touch with different well known marketers by using my “new found status” with kinda generated a domino effect… more respect came my way, more testimonials, more Joint Venture opportunities, and by then, my eBooks were going viral – giving me steady enough subscribers and sales so that I could spend even more of my time contacting and forming relationships with more and more experienced marketers – thus furthering my domino effect.
One hell of a ride in my opinion!
Then as the income increases, simply expand your product range, with different price points and product typres – opening you up for maximum promotional possibilities, by this time IF you put the work in, you’ll be leveraging other marketers on a regular basis which will only build your subscriber list and bottom line!
…Meaning you’ll be in a position to Outsource your business to free up even MORE of your time to focus on the important leverage points… you see how something so small can wind up becoming HUGE so fast?
I was like you, I began with virtually nothing and although am not totally financially comfortable yet, I know if I keep applying my principles my by business and income can only grow – and all that from buying a $37.00 eBook and having the balls not to give up!
So the moral of this post is NEVER GIVE up.
Do at least one thing each and every day that will grow your knowledge and your business and you will succeed! Look, Rome wasn’t built in a day but if they all dropped their shovels and bricks would it be built at all? NO!
The reason it is entirely possible for ANYONE to succeed online is simple – MINDSET.
If you want to become a successful marketer then think like a marketer. Create products, or simply buy them ready made with PLR rights and get your name out there! Research successful people who have done what you want to achieve and don’t be afraid to introduce yourself… build relationships and HELP THEM and your customers. What you give, you ALWAYS get back fivefold…
Think of it as Karma online

Im not a fan of the “Make money with no effort” scams as they are exactly that, what you reap is what you sow.
Its a good thing your honest and tell it as it is, cos im going to try harder now. Hopefully soon we can work together.

Most of us start from scratch Ray and learn as we go along, mistakes and all. Making mistakes teaches us valuable lessons in fact. I reinvest most of what I make back into building websites, buying software, joining memberships sites etc, to create my own domino effect.
I remember reading a little story a while back which said this: Think of your business as if you are pushing a heavy steel ball.
It is hard to get it rolling at the start but once it is then just keep pushing and it will soon pick up momentum and become easier and easier.

Great comment – we ALL have to start somewhere, and your right it IS all a momentum thing.
I’m sure you agree there are a lot of other factors that represent hurdles that we all have to cross, and only the TRULY determined will break through and deliver a “keep on keeping on ability”.
