In addition to what Tom said above, you need to prelaunch or give lots of relevant good content to heat up your leads which get from your affiliate or JV partners.

I guess the more pricely a product is the more content you need to give

Gidday Ray, new office is the way to go mate. My comments are from the last 12 months of personal experience of new product launches. ( Not mine , haven't had any ) This is straight from the gut.

1. Identified product for the target niche. (maybe identified from subscriber comments or google search what is needed or your own personal experience. A unique product preferable no rehash, a total remake over is okay. If the inferior model sold well then the remodel should do just as well.

2. Beta testers well established in the particular niche the product is developed. (in secret)

3. Recommendations and Review sites developed for the proof of the product /s performance and warrants to meet market expectations.

4. Beta testers and big list JV bonuses added to the sales campaign. This may include price specials for JV subscriber lists. ( Shear turnover will pay for any discounts on price). However JV's must declare the discount on the basis of friends rates not because product is worth less then what the general market is paying.

5. Reliable and experienced host for server hits by the market buyers. Choose the same hosting as big list marketers use just to be safe.

6. Anticipate for the questions that the market may ask about the product by conducting a video or better yet a professional presenter / JV partner to assist with a webinar and mail out to lists for early bird viewing of the webinar.

7. Do not forget about options for payment. ie
full price
Half down 50% residue in 30 days or
Third down 33% and two further instalments in 60 days.

I am assuming the webinar and JV recommendations (video) preferably will surpass sales letters and not forget a retweet button for twitter users, face book , digg etc links on video sales page.

That's all for now thanks

Hi Ray & Rob

Congratulations on your new (business) partnership, all the best for the coming year.

The elements/factors of marketing create a successful product launch:

1. Research - One of the keys to succeeding online is to find an eager target market (or 'hungry crowd') to which you can provide a product to educate or to solve a particular problem that they may have. To do this you must research both the market and demand as no matter how good the product or launch, without customers and a need it will fail!

2. Product - Once you have ascertained that there is a suitable market and demand or need then you need to produce a quality product which will fulfil the purpose, be it training, education or to solve a problem. In this day people expect things instantly and in a variety of different formats so you need to encompass written word, spoken word and ideally video to have a broad appeal.

3. Plan - So you have a market and a product, but now what? You need a plan. You must create a plan to set up the product with the infrastructure (hosting, payment processing etc) as well as your strategy. How many upsells/downsells are you using? What does your sales funnel look like? When is the best time to launch? How can you advertise the launch? How do you get affiliates & JVs on board?

4. Create an event - So now you put the plan into action and start to create an event around the product and the launch. Create and distribute content, get forums and blogs talking about it and start to use social media and video to create a buzz and get people talking about your product in the community. You can attract JV's through contacts, networks and newsletters. Give them tools and materials to assist and get them working for you.

5. Preview - by now your event should have started to collect your pre-launch leads and you continue providing taster info and excerts to pre-sell prior to the big day. Consider an early entry Webinar to enable questions and issues and also to open the sales page early to let some customers in to test the sales process prior to the big day.

6. Launch - so you're good to go. You can include some time limited bonuses and some early bonuses and many of your affiliates will have put together their own packages. You need to ensure that you open the doors on time and that your server is ready and able to take the traffic and orders (nothing worse than it going down and you losing sales as people cant buy the product!).

Then once the dust settles your follow up mechanisms kick in and you leverage your sales funnel.

Whilst I may have glossed over it the key at all times is testing which helps in your preparation. You test your product, your niche, your sales letter, your website, your links, your cart etc. As ultimately the process could cause you to fall down and by testing along the way you can take steps to rectify issues and have a successful launch.

So here is to our success in 2010

Hey Ray,

The Five Main Essential elements needed to have a successful Product Launch I'd say is:

1st Element - Good Product. You have to have a Product that has been proven to work and ends with real results. No one wants to promote a crappy mythical product. Plus, very good angle (storyline) of your product that makes everyone wants to jump on it. At the end of the day, you are the owner of the product and it's crucial to brand yourself with a product that really works. Plus, having a real product that gives people money will make you business down the line more easier to sell products.

2nd Element - Planning. If you're not planning to succeed,, then you're planning to fail. Planning and mapping everything out is something that you can't miss in a launch pad. Running around muti- tasking is something I do not want to do, so planning your launch is critical. For example, who going to do what, outsourcing copy, graphics, handling customer service, back up plan if something goes wrong, and who is handling technical issues, and etc...

3rd Element - JV/Affiliate Recruits is the main source of Fast Traffic that a Launch needs. Without them, people will not be able to set million dollar records. One of the tricks of recruiting them is, build relationship and give them the best benefit deals ever. Remember, whats in it for your JV's? For example: Run contest which can mean a lot (being known as the top affiliate, top prizes, money, and etc...), Give them 60-100% commissions, build long term partnership, reciprocal mailing, and etc... This will make them want to jump in and help you on your launch too.

4th Element - Timing/Pre-Launch. Giving Two weeks rundown notice before launch is the usual time for launching a product. Inside the two weeks, there is little ingredients that can measure your launch to be successful or not. This is where you add salt and pepper to make your pre-launch go viral. Don't expect for people to love you if you're giving out PLR products and articles, this is when you give out the best of the best, example 1 or 2 best parts of your product ( a video or chapters), sneak peeks, proofs and etc... Something of value that makes people talk and spread the info virally. This is the time to sell yourself and introduce yourself and make people feel more comfortable, educate them about your product, and creating urgency and scarcity... Besides all the good stuff, it's important to give your JVs enough time to prepare for your launch. This is the time to get subscribers to optin into your autoresponder so you can follow up with your prospects during launch period and post launch.

5th Element - Launch, some people never launched when comes time. Nah, 5th Element is, post launch. Post launch is somewhat important too. Following up with prospects can make more money and give all JVs and Affiliates what their were there for and build relationships.
