Do Something Unexpected In 2009… ($130.00 Contest!)
by rayjohnson | December 30, 2008 | under Contests, Internet Marketing | Comments (9)
Hi everyone,
Ray here with a quick, unexpected Blog post for you before 2009 rolls in!
Last week you may remember I sent an email out to you on one of my subscriber lists about a certain product from John Thornhill regarding a resale rights version of his bestselling product Auction Profit Streams.
You see if you remember, I STRESSED to you in this email that I was not making one red cent from the promotion – better still, John knew nothing about me promoting him either!
I DIDN’T include an affiliate link in the email and NOR did I tell John about the promotion to MY list.
Shortly after the promotion went out, I received a really great email of thanks from John (well I think his words were “maximum respect for that”
) as I know at least 4 of my subscribers went on to purchase his $297.00 product, and these were sales that John:
- Didn’t need to advertise for
- Didn’t need to recruit JV partners for
- Took 100% of the sales dollars
- …and wasn’t expecting!
…and this is a great way for you to build your relationships online for 2009.
Go the extra mile to help OTHERS and forget about the short term windfall of income a promotion to your list brings, and strive to think in terms of the long term success of your business and that of the person you are unexpectedly helping…
The secret is though, NOT to expect anything done in return for you and to just feel good about giving to others – trust me it WILL pay you back in the end!
…and if you haven’t noticed, check out he Lee McIntyre banner on my blog for Standing Start Profits… the first one to guess what’s happening here will willl a special prize worth $130.00!
…and because it is New Year soon it is WAAAY to easy to guess!
Have a great New Year and let me know your thoughts AND your guess in the comments…

Hi Ray,
Your promoting Standing Start Profits without an affiliate link like you did John’s auction Profit Streams?

Hello Ray,
The url on the Standing Start Profits banner directs you to the website directly and not through an affiliate link.

Yeah Ray that was an easy one. ie: Go the extra mile to help OTHERS and forget about the short term windfall of income a promotion to your list brings, and strive to think in terms of the long term success of your business and that of the person you are unexpectedly helping…
That is the true spirit of IM.
God Bless
Terri

I have just made a post on my blog, I would be grateful of any opinion you might have

Well.. It is very easy to say don’t expect any thing in return. But the human mind is so selfish that he can never work for someone without expectation. Thats the normal attitude of a human being. Not for every one…

You must learn to give before you receive and the law of recipriocity will come back arouind tenfold. It is VERY difficult to make money when trying to put yourself firdt in internet marketing. Take it from me. If you try to help others – it’s only human nature you’ll be paid back in time.
Thanks for your input – it’s appreciated.
