Be Prepared When Things Go Wrong!

In the world of internet marketing you can be sure of one thing, somewhere along the line some things are going to go wrong. Thing are almost assuredly going to go wrong when dealing with computers. There is one key to surviving these situations. Always be prepared for the worst, here’s how…
Computers and technology in general are prone to failure. Parts wear out, circuits burn out, electrical surges create damage. It’s not a matter of if it is going to happen to you, it is when will it happen to you. This is where being prepared is most important. There are three rules to being prepared for technological problems, backup, backup and backup.
As an example, let me tell you about John. John has spent a month putting together a complete marketing course. John created videos, audios, written transcripts and workbooks. He just finished everything a few days ago. John goes to his computer one morning ready to show the world his phenomenal course, but when he turns on his computer nothing happens.
All he sees on his computer is the black screen of death. John realizes that most likely his hard drive failed. He also realizes that he had not backed up his files so his entire project, all his work is on the hard drive. There is a good chance that it is gone, irretrievable.
John realizes that not only has he lost a months worth of work, he also realizes that some of the videos he did can not be duplicated. The Interview John did at the marketing seminar with 6 internet marketing gurus can not be replicated.
All of the notes and suggestions from his mentor and his mastermind group were on the disk too. Even if he could put most of the project back together, he knows that all the advice he was fortunate to get from those experts is gone too. Again, John realizes he lost information that can not be duplicated.
The worst thing is, John knew that this could have been prevented. Just doing a few routine backups on a regular basis would have minimized the loss. Just a few backups during the month could have averted this disaster.
You do not want to end up like John. The only way to prevent that situation from happening to you is to make sure you backup all of your critical files on a regular basis. You should backup a minimum of once a week. All of your data files should be backed up. All your research, writing, articles, ebooks, audios, screen shots and videos must be backed up.
You can easily burn a dvd once a week with all your critical files. It might take more than one. If you need to backup a large amount of data, get an external hard drive you can plug in. They have gotten very inexpensive as of late.
Everyone forgets to backup now and then. I am sure every internet marketer has lost some data somewhere along the way. We are never as vigilant of our data as we could be. Remember, backup, backup, backup. Don’t let some technological blips affect your online success.
