One of the largest affiliate sites in the world is called Commission Junction.  Commission junction is different than Clickbank in terms of what kind of affiliate programs they offer. 

Clickbank is the site of choice for many internet marketers who want an easy solution to their affiliate program.  Consequently, Clickbank’s product pool is usually from independent internet marketers.  Here is where Commission Junction differs from Clickbank.

Commission Junction represents large companies’ affiliate programs.  There are few if any independent internet marketers that list products with Commission Junction. 

For example, the eBay affiliate program is administered through Commission Junction.  There are credit card affiliate programs like Citibank and Capital One.  There are investment companies like Merril Lynch. There are computer companies like HP and Dell.

There are over 2200 companies that have affiliate programs on Commission Junction.  They are organized by category so that you can find relevant affiliate programs for your websites easily.

While many internet marketers monetize their sites with Google adsense, you could make a lot more money creating your own revenue producing affiliate links to place on your page.  With Google you are pretty much stuck with what you get and most of the ads they place on your sites pay pennies. 

With affiliate ads and links you can get from Commission Junction, you have a good chance to make a lot more money.  And you can pick and choose the companies that you want to be an affiliate for and advertise on your site.  You can match the appropriate affiliate programs to your product.

For example, if you are selling a ebook about how to pick winners in the stock market, you might want to sign up with the Merril Lynch affiliate program and put their ads and logos on your site with your affiliate links attached.  Since your product is generating interest from people who want to know more about investing, they may need a broker and could very easily be interested in investigating Merril Lynch as an alternative. 

You could utilize the eBay program in a similar way.  If you are selling an ebook that explains how to purchase jewelry with out getting ripped off, you might send your prospective buyer to the jewelry listings on eBay through your affiliate link.  If they buy anything on eBay within the next seven days you get a commission.  Even if they buy something other than jewelry.

Commission Junction is an affiliate program administrator that many internet marketers don’t think about.  It could provide one more stream of passive income to add to your internet marketing portfolio.
